The Report King header

How does it work?

The Report King for Key Stage 1 and 2 will simply ask you for the year group you are working in, and the abilities of your children across the subjects of the National Curriculum.

  • For English, you provide a level for Reading, Writing, Handwriting and Speaking and Listening.
  • For Maths, you provide a level for Using and Applying, Number, and Shape and Space.
  • For all other subjects, you identify whether your students are of a high, medium or lower ability for their age.

In The Report King for Reception, you identify where your children are working in regards to each assessment scale in the Foundation Stage profile. You say whether they are of a high, medium or lower ability in each of the 13 strands.

The Report King will then create reports for every child in your class. Easy.
 

But won't all of the reports look the same?

The Report King has been specifically designed to ensure that no two reports look the same - even for children with identical abilities. This is made possible because The Report King uses an exclusive new technology - it actually understands grammar and sentence formation. Whereas other software will copy and paste the same statements over and over into your reports, The Report King actively adapts each report as it goes, focusing on different skills and areas of the curriculum for each child. It selects from a massive bank of statements, written by teachers with over twenty years of experience, and then changes verbs and adverbs, rearranges sentences (and even the order of the clauses within those sentences) to achieve the best effect. The result is thousands of different possible reports for children in exactly the same ability groups.

It's the next best thing to writing your reports by hand. And why bother finding different ways of saying the same thing, when The Report King has already thought of them all!
 

Using your own report format

The Report King supports most document formats (such as Word documents, rich text files, text files, HTML and others.) Once you have told The Report King where to insert each subject (a simple process, explained in step-by-step detail in the accompanying help file) the program is ready to go.
